I have been producing Glass Art for the last 7 years.
I enjoy the variety and flow of colours I can use and love the images change with light. I sketch a design and often "draw" into the glass using copper wire inclusions. I make a range from bowls to complex pictures.
Glass Framed in Slate
The glass is framed in pieces of slate to enhanced the colours.
Wild Geese over water in flight.
With small pieces of glass I have been able to make different animals.
Sun and Moon
My Sun and Moon piece is inspired by a poem by Safire Rose. I have included a picture of my sketch to show how this piece transformed.
"A small smile came over her face. A light breeze blew through her. And the sun and the moon shone forevermore." Safire Rose
Meditating with Stanley (The Cat)
Night Sky Milky Way
My inspiration for this piece came from a stories I heard as a child.
I enjoyed making these pieces making then original, by displaying them outside, it has captured the colours perfectly.
An Angel created with copper wire.
Cartwheels in the sand
Girl and Goose
This piece was made to hang in a window, the different colours represented the colours from the earth,
Glass Women was made by using copper wire to sketch the main features, the hands and face - I used wire mesh for the head wear and glass to compliment.
Journeying - Looking up at the stars
This piece was inspired from one of my travelling trips away.
This piece is one I am particularly fond of, I was thrilled with how it transformed from my sketches. Please see my Sketches to Art page.
Inspired by Neasden Temple
Last year I was inspired to start making a few seasonal pieces, I started off with Christmas trees and moved onto reindeers based on my horse designs.
